Young, dynamic and just amazing

SINGAPORE - Popular K-pop boyband B.A.P lived up to their reputation of being 2012's best newcomers by putting on a dynamic and highly energetic concert at The Star Theatre Thursday evening.

Their performance was so good that fans said it was better than what some of the A-list K-pop groups had dished out in their gigs here.

Polytechnic student Lee Wei Yi, 17, said: "I have watched Super Junior's and Wonder Girls' concerts in Singapore before and B.A.P's gig is much more impressive.

"The members can all sing very well, and the concert ran at a tight pace. Their songs are very catchy, too. It was one of the best K-pop concerts I've seen this year."

Student Adrielle Cahigas, 17, said: "I've been to boy band UKiss' concert before, but B.A.P is so much better in terms of their live performance.

"They have a strong stage presence and can work the crowd. I can feel the high energy from all the members."

Sleek dance moves

The six-piece outfit, which came on punctually at 6pm, blazed through their chart-topping hits such as Warrior and No Mercy, complete with synchronised dance moves and strong soaring vocals, as the crowd of 3,000 fans screamed at the top of their voices, waving their glow-in-the dark green light sticks.

The boy band members also displayed their versatility as they switched from fast-paced catchy tunes to slow emotive ballads, including the touching Rain Sound.

The sextet showed off their individual talent as well by performing short segments of rapping, dancing, singing and DJ-ing separately.

Member Daehyun was especially impressive as he hit all the high notes effortlessly with his powerful vocals.

B.A.P may be a new and young boy band - the youngest member Zelo is only 17 - but they are a force to be reckoned with.

As some of their fans said, with so much talent and potential in them, B.A.P. will perhaps take over the current reigning groups very soon.
