SINGAPORE - You wouldn't think of ordering chilli crab and black pepper crab at the upmarket Jade restaurant at Fullerton Hotel, but those messy but tasty dishes are among the highlights of its ongoing crab promotion.
Besides these local favourites, the Chinese restaurant has also come up with original recipes including cooking the crabs in Asian pesto sauce, spicy cheese sauce or spicy pumpkin sauce.
My favourite is the Asian pesto sauce, which is made from spring onion, parsley, curry leaves, mint leaves, green pepper, lime and a touch of wasabi. But those with a sweet tooth will probably favour the pumpkin sauce which is spiced with pepper and chilli padi.
