Fish & Co outlet at iconic Glass House to shut in June

THE Glass House branch of Fish & Co will close in the middle of the year, the seafood restaurant chain said on Wednesday.

In a statement on its website, the chain said that "after almost 14 years, Fish & Co@Glasshouse is due for permanent closure in June 2016 due to redevelopment works by Park Mall".

When contacted, a Fish & Co staff member at the Glass House said the building will be "demolished".

The chain said in its statement: "The Fish & Co team is sad to confirm that the iconic building and outlet that has played a part in everyone's school day and birthday celebrations will be gone soon."

The restaurant in Penang Road will be conducting a range of activities from now till June to bid a fond farewell to the building.

During the six months, there will be a 20 per cent discount for groups celebrating birthdays.

In April, there will be events for the needy and underprivileged.

The redevelopment of Park Mall was announced in June last year.

Suntec Reit, which acquired the mall in 2005, has set up a joint venture company - in which it holds a 30 per cent stake - that will redevelop the site.

The lifestyle and home furnishing mall will become two office blocks, complete with a retail component.
