Great grub at The Grandstand

SINGAPORE - Have trouble finding a dining place in Bukit Timah? TungLok has a number of options offering a wide variety of cuisines.

At The Grandstand, a lifestyle hub formerly known as Turf City, TungLok offers a range of cuisines, from Creole and Cajun seafood to traditional Beijing fare.

It has three restaurants there: Slappy Cakes, Dancing Crab and TungLok XiHe Peking Duck.

For families with young children, Slappy Cakes is a must-try for a fun dining experience.

A make-your-own dining concept for diners to create their own pancakes, the American diner's menu features different flavoured batters, as well as sweet and savoury fixings, such as crispy bacon and apple sauce that can be added on.

Diners can customise their own pancakes using built-in griddles at their table. The pancake diner uses local, sustainable and organic produce for its ingredients.

For seafood-lovers, Dancing Crab is great for Southern Louisiana and New Orleans cuisine. The restaurant serves fresh seafood prepared in refreshing ways. For instance, its Seafood Boil dish has seafood, such as mussels and crab, cooked in a bag with a signature sauce.

Another house favourite is the Flaming Moonshine Tiger Prawns dish, which features prawns cooked with fragrant moonshine, a distilled spirit. Diners can also choose from three sauce flavours - wasabi katsuo, sweet wine chilli and lemon pickled chilli.

For foodies who want authentic Beijing food, TungLok XiHe Peking Duck serves favourites such as Peking duck, as well as pan-fried beef rib with Sichuan pepper.

The restaurant's signature Peking duck, which has very crispy skin and succulent flesh, comes with condiments such as blueberry sauce and pop-rock candy to add a modern twist to the classic dish.

Established in 1984, TungLok Group owns and manages over 40 restaurants in Singapore, Indonesia, China, Japan and India. TungLok's restaurants strive for quality food, excellent service and unique dining concepts.
