Nicholas Tse to cook for over 700 guests at Michelin Dinner

You may know Nicholas Tse as the acclaimed Hong Kong actor, but did you know that he is also a foodie?

The 36-year-old Cantopop singer will be cooking for over 700 people at upcoming Michelin Dinner on Nov 11 held at Studio City, Macau.

Tse, who is also the host of Chef Nic, a food travelogue shot in locations from Africa to Finland featuring international and Asian celebrity guests, has been unveiled as a special guest at the dinner.

Despite being daunted by the task, Tse said that "it was cool to be part of [the dinner]."

During the dinner, Tse will also be recognised at the first "Friend of Michelin".

"It is a recognition in a new field that I've just started exploring the past few years," Tse said.

The celebrity will also share his thoughts on the vibrancy and the dynamism of the Chinese culinary scene, together with Michael Ellis, International Director of the Michelin Guide.

"Michelin is indeed delighted to salute the positive contribution Nicholas Tse is making through his work," the culinary guide brand said in a statement on Friday (Oct 28).

The 36-year-old Cantopop singer's passion for culinary can be seen in his bakery, two cookie brands, and his eponymous brand of kitchen equipment.

In his food show, Tse goes in search of great cuisine and culturally unique dishes, while creating recipes of his own in the process.

Besides Tse, seven international chefs, six of whom are recognised by the Michelin Guide, will be preparing the dinner, which is co-organised by Robert Parker Wine Advocate, an independent consumer's guide to fine wine.
