While running around on a hot, sunny day, I grab a bottle of corn tea from a Korean grocery store and it is so perfectly refreshing, I turn right back and buy another bottle.
Oksusu cha is made with roasted corn kernels steeped in boiling water to produce a light golden drink. Although it looks mild, the tea packs a lot of flavour, not the least of which is the smoky flavour of the roasted corn. Adding to the toasty vibe is brown rice extract.
I love corn in all forms and this is a new way of enjoying it, at least for me.
It works so well with the crazy weather we are having too.
On hot days, drink it chilled. On rainy ones, have it warm. Either way, the flavour of corn lingers on the palate in a good way.
