Posh Nosh: Bruneus Raw Chocolate Cacao Nibs

One day, I hope the noshables I feature here will mostly be made in Singapore.

This is not really a pie in the sky dream, since savvy food entrepreneurs are turning out jams, granola, sambal and other products that carry a Made In Singapore stamp and are artisanal to boot.

Bruneus Raw Chocolate Sweet Cacao Nibs is one of them. It is made by a company, called Superlative Foods, which makes a mighty good snack.

Don't be put off by the "sweet" in its name. The organic cacao nibs from Bali are made into clusters with palm sugar. They are not particularly sweet, in fact. The flavour that comes through more prominently is deep, dark chocolate.
