Top 100 wines honoured by The Peak's Gourmet & Travel Magazine

Singapore- The Peak Selections: Gourmet and Travel, a publication of SPH Magazines Pte Ltd (SPH Magazines), announced the winners of the G Top 100 Wines 2013 on 28 November 2013.

The Peak Selections: Gourmet & Travel reports on the finest gourmet offerings in Singapore and around the world. Readers of this publication have highly discerning palates and have no qualms jet-setting globally in pursuit of the best cuisines and the most exclusive travel experiences the world has to offer. Currently published biannually, The Peak Selections: Gourmet & Travelwill become a tri-annual magazine from 2014 onwards.

This is the fourth year The Peak Selections: Gourmet and Travel has put out a definitive list of the best 100 wines. These top scoring wines were selected after being blind tasted by Gourmet and Travel's judging panel that comprised 14 of Singapore's most renowned wine experts, such as oenologist Edwin Soon, veteran wine connoisseur Tan Kah Hin, as well as Tan Ying Hsien, an established authority and commentator on wine.

The judges also singled out 12 wines out of the 100 for special mention. In particular, four wines stood out in the following categories:

Most Drinkable Red Wine of the Year: Sato, Pinot Noir 2011 (Artisan Cellars)

Red Wine of the Year: Vega Sicilia, Alion 2007 (Vinum Fine Wines)

White Wine of the Year: Churchview Estate, The Bartondale Reserve, Chardonnay 2011 (Hockhua Wines)

Sweet Wine of the Year: Disznoko, Tokaji Aszu, 5 Puttonyos 2005 (The Straits Wine Company)

The full list of the G Top 100 Wines, together with tasting notes for each wine, can be found in the latest issue of Gourmet & Travel, which will be released at the awards.

The Peak Selections: Gourmet & Travel clinched six awards at the recent International Creative Media Awards (ICMA) 2013 organised by the International Editorial-Design & Research Forum based in Germany, including Awards of Excellence for its Cover, Photography and in the category of Alternative Storytelling.
