Football stars makes surprise visit to Singapore school

SINGAPORE - Footballers Rio Ferdinand and Sergio Aguero made a surprise visit at the Association for Persons with Special Needs (APSN) Tanglin School on Friday during their trip to Singapore.

The star-struck students received tips from the players who then coached them in a fun-filled eleven-a-side match.

They also took home balls signed by the players themselves as a special souvenir.

APSN is one of the beneficiaries of the SingTel Touching Lives Fund. Mr Yuan Kuan Moon, Chairman of SingTel's Touching Lives Fund, said: " We hope the event inspires the students to dream big and pursue their goals - in spite of their circumstances. Rio and Sergio are such good role models. From seeing the professionalism and dedication of the players today, we hope the students will learn life lessons about working hard and doing their best in everything they do."

The footballers are in Singapore for a promotional visit which saw them compete in various challenges such as taking Singapore-themed selfies.
