Getting saucy at Miss Lok!

For those of you old enough to remember, Lok Lok used to be a popular street-food amongst Singaporeans.

If you are missing the good-old-days of Lok Lok or have never tried this traditional favourite where skewers of meat are cooked in a hot-pot, there is a new joint in town that offers a great experience.

Miss Lok at Central Mall give diners a nostalgic twist to old school lok lok in a modern setting by offering its skewered offerings with a whole range of soup bases and sauces.

Soup flavours include Laksa, Japanese Oden and Sichuan Mala among others.

The SoShiok team were spoilt by the huge range of sauces with some of the restaurant's ever popular chincalok, sambal belachan, Thai nam tom and a salted egg yolk sauces.

Meat lovers, be sure to order the mega-meat platter which includes quality cuts of beef striploin and rib-eye alongside pork belly and other cuts of meat.

In addition, expect to find quail eggs, sausages, fish cake and other tasty street food for your "lok lok" experience. Diners can choose to cook these skewers in their hot pot or get it deep fried in the kitchen.

With the myriad of soup, sauce and meat choices, the combinations at Miss Lok are almost endless. With its old school Shanghai inspired deco, its the perfect place to enjoy a modern take on an old time favourite.
