SINGAPORE - Starting Tuesday, three more anonymous HIV test sites opened their doors to encourage individuals to have early testing for HIV.

The Ministry of Health said these sites are Doctors Clinic & Surgery, Kensington Family Clinic and Q&M Medical Aesthetic Clinic (Tampines Central).

They were chosen based on factors such as experience with rapid HIV testing and location.

Their addition brings the total number of sites to 10.

The anonymous HIV testing programme provides an alternative to individuals who would like to be tested, but prefer not to be identified to health care personnel.

The total number of anonymous HIV tests carried out in Singapore has increased from about 5,500 in 2005 to almost 14,000 last year.

The full list of test sites is available on the HPB website at www.hpb.gov.sg/HOPPortal/health-article/6368.
