The ancient Greek philosopher and scientist Aristotle once said: "Personal beauty is a greater recommendation than any letter of reference."

His wise words have stood the test of time. Nowadays, more people prefer to go under the knife to improve their looks or size.

However, a survey by medicalaccidentgroup.co.uk shows that 65 per cent of Brits who've had cosmetic surgery now regret undergoing the procedure.

Therefore, one should rethink before deciding to go under knife.

Cosmetic surgery may be an excellent way for getting the transformation one desires, but the change may also make one's life miserable sometimes leading to dire consequences.

In April 2014, a Chinese woman made headlines when she had to undergo corrective surgery after her breast implants had migrated to her back and stomach.

Tian Hui, 39, had plastic surgery to enhance her bust in 2002. Everything was fine initially, but after several years, her implants started moving further and further away from her chest.

"I couldn't believe it when I woke up one day several years later and realised they had actually moved," she said.

Embarrassed, she tried to move them back again, but they would shift every night when she slept - until one day, one implant ended up on her back and the other down at her stomach area.

"I was actually really scared about the damage that the moving breasts might have done to my body, and it was incredibly painful," she said. She had to undergo surgery to remove the implants, where doctors found out another shocking fact - the material used for the implants was a banned substance that could cause cancer and kidney damage in worst case scenarios.
