Baby racket ring: Doctor, civil servants to be charged

NIBONG TEBAL - The private medical doctor, a National Registration Department staff and six other suspects detained in connection with the baby-for-sale racket busted by the police recently, may be charged at the Butterworth Sessions court this Friday.

State police chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi said police would submit the investigation papers to the Deputy Public Prosecutor office tomorrow and expected to get a response by Friday.

He said the eight were the remaining suspects in police custody after five of the syndicate members were charged last Friday while the other 22 suspects were released under Section 118 of the Criminal Procedure Code recently.
