A group of 40 cabbies got together and had their heads shaved to a close crop for a good cause.

The move by the taxi drivers on Tuesday was part of a satellite event organised for the first time by CabbyCare Charity Group in support of Hair for Hope 2014.

Organised annually by the Children’s Cancer Foundation, Hair for Hope aims to raise funds and awareness about childhood cancer through head-shaving events. The foundation hopes to encourage at least 6,500 people to “make a bald statement” this year and raise about $3.6 million. Last year, more than 7,000 people took part, raising about $4 million for the charity.
