Disabled couple ties the knot in wheelchairs

KUALA PILAH - Being disabled does not mean one should stop believing in love and getting married, as shown by a pair of newlyweds at their wedding reception at Dewan Felda Kepis here yesterday.

Groom Baharuddin Palugu, 34, from Tawau, Sabah, who is paralysed from waist down from road accident in 1995, and his bride, Seniah Kadir, 26, who is also paralysed following a road accident when she was 8, met each other in 2010.

They met at Pusat Latihan Perindustrian and Pemulihan in Bangi. Baharuddin decided then and there that Seniah was the person he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.

He took his family to meet Seniah's parents in Felda Kepis last year and they got engaged in March.

"I never thought that I will be able to bersanding. Yet, here we are. It does not matter that we have sit in our wheelchairs."

Seniah said: "Being disabled, I had doubts about meeting my prince charming. But, now, I pray that our marriage will last forever."
