ARIZONA - Most brides want to slim down for their weddings, but 33-year-old Susanne Eman of Arizona is trying to do the opposite.

Hoping to realise her dream of becoming the world's fattest person, she got engaged to chef Parker Clack, 35, who reportedly loves nothing better than to fatten her up.

In early 2012, she already weighed a hefty 756 pounds (342kg) and hoped to more than double her weight to a whopping 1,610 pounds (730kg) to beat the current world record holder.

In her race to pile on the pounds, she gobbled up 22,000 calories a day. On some days, she even ate 30,000 calories. To put things into perspective, the recommended daily caloric intake for an average person is 2,000 calories.

Here's what Eman's average daily intake looked like:

4 to 5 donuts
7 egg omelets with a cup and a half of cheese and a package of ham
4 to 5 potatoes made into hashbrowns
Full package of bacon
4 corndogs dipped in nacho cheese
Full-sized bag of potato chips
Couple of strawberries
Large pepperoni pizza
2 bowls of ice cream
1 bag of peanut M&Ms
2 bacon cheeseburgers
1 box of Mac 'N' Cheese
3 bananas
6 avocados made into guacamole
1 full bag of chips
10 fish tacos
Rice and beans
1 full bag of honey buns
1 box of hot pocket potatoes
1 bag of pepperoni

With one full meal able to satisfy her for a mere 45 minutes, she barely had time to eat one meal before she was preparing for the next. Eman was consuming 11 times the amount of food a normal woman eats.

She estimated that she should be able to reach her target by the age of 41 or 42 - if she doesn't drop dead first.

Risk of dying

Risk of dying

According to the US Centre of Disease Control, obesity is linked to a higher risk of coronary heart disease, type 2 diabetes, cancer, stroke, liver and gallbladder disease, sleep apnea and respiratory problems and many more medical problems.

On average, studies have found that obesity reduces lifespans by about six to seven years.

However, she said it pays off as being fat makes her feel "sexy" and even makes her more attractive to men.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Eman started off as an average obese American trying to lose weight.

She told the publication that she hit nearly 500 pounds two years ago and was losing the battle against weight gain. But while getting fatter and fatter each day, she noticed that men started paying more attention to her.

This could be in part due to fat fetishism - the strong or exclusive sexual attraction to overweight or obese people.

Whatever it was, her mindset slowly changed from hating her flab, to loving it.

"The more weight I put on the better I felt, and the more confidence I seemed to gain," she wrote on her blog. She soon began to change the way she did things according to her weight.

"I want to break the stigma that being fat is a bad thing," she said earlier this year. "I remind other fat people that it is OK for them to be that way. The message I want to get across is for people to accept others for who they are."

In the interview, she claimed to be perfectly healthy, very mobile and active. Her goal was to see how far she could push the limits to gain as much weight as possible.

Her story made her into a media sensation and attracted the attention of lifestyle and health guru, Dr Phil.

He interviewed her in an attempt to make her realise the damage she is doing to her health and to start her on the road to healthy living.

She agreed to step onto the scales - but only to see how fat she was. When she found out she didn't weigh as much as she hoped to, she was disappointed, much to Dr Phil's shock.

After a confrontational interview and a month of indecision, Susanne finally admitted she had a problem and needed some help.

She went into a weight loss facility that Dr Phil recommended and helped her get admitted into.

However, her choice to lose weight didn't sit too well with her fiance.

According to the Radar Online, Clack helped her gain the pounds by dishing out giant-sized portions of fried breakfasts of bacon and scrambled eggs, fried potatoes and huge slices of toast.

He said he feeds her because it makes her happy and he loves big women.

Dr Phil said Clark sabotaged the weight loss program by telling her she should gain more weight, and even smuggled in food to feed her. Thanks to all the food he secretly brought to her, she actually gained 10 pounds in a single day instead of losing them.

She told the media that she is afraid of losing her love as Clark has made it clear he is only attracted to her if she is fat. Dr Phil said he thinks Clark has a fetish for morbidly obese women, and is putting Eman's life in danger to entertain himself.

"(His actions) are selfish and self destructive and I've got a problem with that," he said.

According to her blog, Eman has parted ways with him. Their latest relationship status is unclear.
