SINGAPORE - The oft-repeated plea, that Medisave should be made easier to tap, has been heard.
While it is still concerned about depleting Medisave balances, the Government has decided to take a more flexible approach.
All this translates into bigger cash savings for Singaporeans.
To start with, patients seeking outpatient treatment for chronic diseases will no longer have to pay the first $30 in cash.
They will be able to defray costs of some non-cancer-related scans through Medisave.
And, from next year, lower- to middle-income patients can look forward to cheaper medication.
