Monkey in city because of hail?

Last Tuesday evening, my wife, two young daughters and I were strolling along the big monsoon drain towards Tiong Bahru Plaza when something caught my attention.

There was a monkey sitting on the rail fencing next to the drain. It then scampered away quickly.

I have lived in the Boon Tiong area all my life and had never seen a monkey there before.

Incidentally, this happened after the freak hail storm that hit the western part of the island that day.

Could the hailstones have driven the timid little creature out of the nature reserves to seek refuge in the safer grounds of the city?

Well, your guess is as good as mine.
