SINGAPORE - I received a tax invoice from Khoo Teck Puat Hospital about two weeks after my mother's discharge, complete with instructions on how to make payment for her hospital stay.
I then proceeded to make payment using my son's credit card.
Three days later, I received a "tax invoice (adjusted)", where the charge was lower than that in the earlier invoice.
Sending an adjusted invoice so soon after the first one creates confusion and unnecessary work as either additional payments or refunds would have to be settled. If this is the standard procedure, it is not only unproductive but also a waste of resources.
