New spinal surgery device designed at Delhi hospital

A NEW device called Satnam device for endoscopic surgery, which will smoothen spinal surgery procedures, has been designed at Sir Ganga Ram hospital in Delhi.

The device was developed by the hospital's neuro and spine department director Satnam Singh Chhabra.

It is a flexible tube which will be placed into the patient's back through a minor cut in the skin.

Surgery is performed through the tube which has a small camera at its end.

The procedure will be reflected on an LED monitor.

Mr Chhabra said the device is extremely helpful in the treatment of slipped discs.
