A new integrated wellness centre has opened along Hougang Street 51 - a first for the Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC.
Roughly the size of two five-room HDB flats, It will give residents access to a traditional Chinese medicine clinic, basic counselling services, video games and even a mobile library kiosk.
Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC grassroots advisor Mr Gan Thiam Poh who opened the centre on Saturday, expressed hope that the space will cater to the residents' well-being and be a meeting point for residents of all ages. "There should be something for everyone. This marks a step towards building a more engaged community," he said.
The centre was formerly a rehabilitation venue for Ren Ci hospital, and has been refurbished at the cost of $70,000, paid for by donors. Most of the services are also free.

The counselling services are provided by the not-for-profit group Silver Ribbon.
