The National Institute of Education (NIE) yesterday opened its Wellness Centre which is aimed at providing the public with affordable counselling sessions.
Located at 1 Nanyang Walk, the centre's session will cost unemployed adults and external students 10 per cent less than those offered elsewhere.
They will pay $15 an hour while the sessions will be free for NIE and Nanyang Technological University students.
A national broadcaster reported that the centre is staffed by trainees enrolled in two NIE postgraduate programmes - Master of Arts (Applied Psychology) and Master of Arts (Counselling & Guidance).
Registered psychologists will oversee the trainees.
The NIE Wellness Centre operates on appointment basis and is open on Mondays to Friday from 9 am to 5pm.
