SINGAPORE - Well-known plastic surgeon Woffles Wu is being sued by a client who claims that his treatment left her with burns on her face. She is seeking more than $400,000 in damages.

Ms Cherlyn Soh, 47, claims that she consulted Dr Wu in May 2011 to get her eyebags treated - but ended up being persuaded to undergo facial treatment.

Dr Wu, 54, says she had approached him to get the skin on her face treated, and that there was no discussion on eyebags.

He says she was then "overenthusiastic" in applying the creams prescribed to her after she had been treated with intense pulsar light. She had also used other skin-care products in addition to the prescribed creams.

Ms Soh says she had been told she could go to work the next day, but took a long time to recover and lost out on her earnings as a real estate agent.

A pre-trial conference is due next week.
