Sarah Jessica Parker's feet damaged by heels

London - As Sex And The City's fashion crazy Carrie Bradshaw, Sarah Jessica Parker made Manolo Blahnik a household name. Sky-high heels have also been her personal favourite, as seen at red-carpet events.

Now, years after making fans lust after sexy footwear, the actress says she has damaged feet from wearing stilettoes and has cut back on them.

In an interview in this week's issue of luxury e-tailer Net-a-Porter's digital magazine, she says: "For 10 or so years, I literally ran in heels. I worked 18-hour days and never took them off. I wore beautiful shoes, some better made than others, and never complained."

But Parker, 47, said she twisted her ankle while filming her movie I Don't Know How She Does It (2011) as she was wearing cheap shoes - "the bottoms weren't leather, they were plastic", she says. She had to see a podiatrist, who she says told her: "'Your foot does things it shouldn't be able to do. That bone there... you've created that bone. It doesn't belong there."

"The moral of the story is," she adds, "the chickens are coming home to roost. It's sad because my feet took me all over the world, but eventually they were like, 'You know what, we are really tired, can you just stop - and don't put cheap shoes on us?'"

The magazine pointed out that she wore heels for the interview at a New York restaurant. She is also seen posing in high heels for the shoot.
