Service at KTPH leaves much to be desired

SINGAPORE - I refer to the report "Most are satisfied with public hospitals" (The New Paper, Dec 12). It said Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) enjoyed the highest overall satisfaction level in a Ministry of Health survey.

Given my experience of the service provided by the hospital, this sounds like a joke.

I have been a long-term patient at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and was transferred to KTPH as I live in Woodlands and it is closer to my home.

But after about a year, I had enough of it and got a transfer back to SGH.

KTPH gave me the wrong prescription twice and I decided that I cannot overlook these mistakes.

I complained to the customer service staff, but as far as I know, no action was taken.

I was given no assurance that it would not happen again and was not told of any new process that were put in place to prevent this. I fail to see how this hospital can be rated highly for service excellence.

As a comparison, I have sought treatment at SGH for seven years and have never had any such issue there. I am happy I am going back to SGH.
