Shed more light on what happens to donated bodies

SINGAPORE - It is a selfless, magnanimous and humanitarian act to donate one's body for medical research, which is what SingHealth Polyclinics chief executive Tan Chee Beng has done, according to media reports.

I am also 50 years old and have been putting off doing the same thing for a very long time. Dr Tan's altruistic and benevolent act has inspired me to put in my submission immediately.

The Health Ministry's website offers very little information for a layman like me on what happens to a body that is donated for medical research.

It would be good if the media can put up a well-researched article on this, or if the ministry can shed more light.

Dr Tan is a beacon for me, and I offer my deepest condolences to his family.
