SINGAPORE - A former drama teacher in Singapore penned a book on her six-year-old daughter's battle with cancer as an inspiration and encouragement to others, Nanyang Siang Pau reported.
The book by Joanne Poon, 38, about her daughter Maeve Low, was translated into 13 languages.
Poon said Maeve complained about abdominal pain when she was three, after her younger sister, Paige, was born.
"She was diagnosed with second stage of Burkitt's lymphoma and required chemotherapy immediately," Poon said.
Poon told her daughter that she was a brave princess and had to lead a team of soldiers to fight the growing "stone" in her stomach.
After Maeve recovered, 2,000 copies of the books were distributed to cancer hospitals in Singapore and other countries.
