South Korea confirms first Zika case

South Korean health authorities said a man who recently returned home after spending 22 days in Brazil has been confirmed to be infected with the Zika virus on Tuesday.

According to the authorities, the 43-year-old man returned to Korea on March 11 after visiting the South American country for work purposes from Feb 17 to March 9.

He started experiencing symptoms, including fever, skin rash and muscle pain, on March 16.

The man currently lives in Gwangyang, South Jeolla Province.
