Vivid dreams may be associated with some types of medication and sometimes seen in patients with psychological disturbances.
Q: I have been dreaming vividly every night, and I always wake up feeling unrested, no matter how many hours I've slept. I can't really remember my dreams when I wake up.
This has been going on for months and is starting to affect my mood as well as my productivity at work. What could be causing this?
A: Vivid dreams may be associated with some types of medication. They are also sometimes seen in patients with psychological disturbances, especially if the dreams are often unpleasant or violent.
If this is persistent and affecting quality of sleep, mood and performance, it is best to be evaluated by a doctor to rule out treatable problems.
