SINGAPORE - By her own admission, Ming Bridges has never looked better.

The bubbly 21-year-old Eurasian singer-songwriter - she's born to a British dad and Chinese Singaporean mum - credits her "newfound radiance" and "glowing eyes" to a healthy diet.

"These days, I'm into organic and vegan food," said the local singer, whose new English album of originals, Morphosis, is out in stores and iTunes.

That said, Bridges, Singapore's first artiste to helm cable channel MTV Asia's live music series MTV Sessions, is no wet blanket at the lunch table.

At Our Korner, a contemporary bistro at boutique hotel The Scarlet, the chirpy lass ordered a fruit salad.

In between sips of orange juice, Bridges shares her favourite restaurants and types of cuisine.

You're on a vegan diet now. What does that entail? Do you go to any specific eateries?

I've been on a vegan diet for 28 days and I love it! I engage the services of The Rawyal Kitchen, which is an online service that offers yummy raw vegan meals and products.

I don't miss meat at all, because the vegetables come in so many different exciting flavours. The other day, I had a taco with guacamole (an avocado-based sauce). The "meat" was made of walnut and garlic, and it was encased in a dehydrated coconut wrap.

I also go to organic eatery The Living Cafe at Bukit Timah Road a lot. It's a great place for brown rice and quinoa. I like quinoa because it's protein-rich and gives me the energy I need for singing.

Most organic restaurants also make desserts and cakes with no eggs and refined sugar.

What are your favourite styles of cuisine?

My top two would be Lebanese and Japanese food.

I had a favourite Lebanese restaurant while growing up in England and was quite sad to learn that it had closed down.

Kibbeh (spiced meatballs), hummus (chickpea dip) and tabbouleh (salad) are must-have Lebanese dishes.

I'm also a big fan of the Sushi Tei chain. I visited the branch at Holland Village so often that one year, the staff gave me a Christmas present.

Where would you go for a romantic dinner date? Any favourite restaurants?

My ideal venue for a date would be The Boathouse in Sydney, Australia. It's by the ocean and very pretty.

I love travelling for food and Ottolenghi in England is hands down the best salad bar.

If you love gelato, you have to try Gelato Messina in Sydney. I follow their Instagram feeds and they constantly come up with new flavours and creations like peanut custard, blueberry cheesecake.

Do you cook?

I love buying cookbooks and doing research on dishes, but when I attempt to cook, I'm a huge failure.

Well, I can do roast chicken with sweet potatoes and vegetables. You know, the classic English Sunday roast. It's something I grew up with.

Are you an adventurous eater?

Yes, I believe in trying everything at least once in my life. I've tried camel milkshake in Dubai, crocodile meat in South Africa, smelly tofu in Taiwan and ostrich burgers in the UK.

Those burgers are the tastiest ones I've ever had.
