A furniture maker's love for his daughter led him to build 'indestructible' homes so that her fears about the world coming to an end would be put to rest.
Ancient Mayan astronomers had predicted that an apocalypse would happen this month on Dec 21, causing some believers to go into survival mode and start stocking up on supplies.
However, Mr Liu Qiyuan came up with a new idea and did something different. He created seven spherical survival pods which can support up to 14 people each.
Each of the pods contain everything from water and food to emergency supplies. They can also float in case of tsunamis or floods and are powered by outboard engines.
