Pre-shower: If your face tends to feel dry and taut after a hot shower, it’s because heat strips moisture from the skin’s top layer. To combat that, lightly pat on a few drops of Herbivore Botanicals’ Phoenix Facial Oil ($137).

In the shower: Rosehip and chia seed oils keep moisture locked into your skin while you wash.

Pre-shower: It’s meant to be used after a shower, but patting a little of this body oil on dry elbows and kneecaps beforehand can keep them moisturised after, too.

In the shower: Nothing to be done here.

In the shower: The lightweight “dry” oil helps to soothe and hydrate an easily irritated scalp.
