Long bus wait: SMRT replies

We note Madam Yeo Huay Ling's concerns regarding Service 969, which plies between Woodlands Regional Interchange and Tampines Interchange ("Frustrating wait for bus"; last Wednesday).

SMRT tracks journey times and passenger demand for all our bus services on a daily basis.

We have been monitoring Service 969 closely and we added two higher-capacity double-deck buses to the service last December. The additional double-deck buses have enabled more passengers to board Service 969. We will continue to focus on improving our bus services, especially during peak periods.

We request that passengers move to the back of the bus, thereby allowing more passengers to board. Every individual who moves to the rear of the bus extends a courtesy to fellow passengers so that we can make better use of the carrying capacity of our buses.
