Mailbox: Food firms can host site visits

My family recently visited the Cup Noodles Museum in Yokohama, Japan, and had one of the most memorable bonding experiences.

Besides exhibits that give visitors a better understanding of the evolution of instant and cup noodles, there are also two activities that children and adults can take part in: learning to make chicken ramen in pairs and making your own cup noodles, where you get to design your own cup and choose the ingredients for the noodles.

Participants can take their handmade products home, which gives them a sense of achievement and enhances their learning experience.

Singapore food companies can explore hosting similar activities, where schoolchildren and other visitors can learn to make, say, burgers or popular tidbits. Not only are such activities enriching learning experiences, the food companies involved can also generate extra income by charging a small fee for them.
