JOHOR BARU: Four friends who left their homes for a holiday in Terengganu have been reported missing for the past six days.

Johor police chief Comm Datuk Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd confirmed that their families lodged missing person reports at the Seri Alam police station on Feb 10.

Those missing are Luqman Jainie, Abu Izzani Abu Bakar, Nik Shakir Zufayri and Muhammad Asyraf Isa, all aged 21.

He said the victims left Seri Alam at around 9.30pm last Wednesday in a Honda Accord and had not been heard from since.

"They were supposed to go to Terengganu for a holiday and their mobile phones could not be contacted about two hours after they pushed off.

"We believe they used the Johor Baru-Kota Tinggi-Mersing-Rompin route to head to their destination.

"However, we are still trying to find out their holiday destination in the east coast state," he said yesterday.

Abu Izzani's mother Molek Mohd Yusoff, 50, said the youths were her son's childhood friends.

"They were supposed to meet up with one of the boys' cousins in Kuantan before continuing on their trip,'' she said.

Molek said except for Luqman who works in a supermarket in Plentong here, all the others are still studying.

Those with information can contact the police hotline at 07-221 2999 or the Seri Alam police headquarters hotline at 07-386 4222 to assist in investigations.
