4 men join PAS instead of DAP because of 'Islamic struggle'

KEPALA BATAS: Four men who applied to join DAP last week have decided to join PAS instead.

Mohd Yusri Mustaffa, Amri Hassan, Muhammad Hafiz Abdul Halim and Muhammad Arif Ghazali handed their application forms to Kepala Batas PAS chief Bukhori Ghazali on Tuesday.

Yusri, who spoke on behalf of the group, said they were withdrawing their applications to join DAP because they were confident of the Islamic struggle by PAS.

He said they submitted their applications to join DAP at a ceremony held at a hotel here on Nov 25 in the presence of Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng.

He said they would now not be involved in forming the Permatang Janggus and Kota Aur DAP branches.

When contacted, Kepala Batas DAP chief Lai Hock Peng said the party had yet to process the four men's membership applications.

"As such, we cannot comment on the withdrawal of their applications," he said.
