Boys aged 10 and 11 suspected of raping nine-year-old girl in Malaysia

MIRI - Two boys aged 10 and 11 have been taken into custody by the police in Limbang town in northern Sarawak on suspicion of raping a nine-year-old girl.

Sarawak CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Dev Kumar confirmed that the police picked up the two boys on Monday evening following a report lodged by the victim's mother.

"The girl was sent to the Miri Hospital on Monday evening for a medical check-up.

"On Sunday evening, her mother found her naked from the waist down with the two boys inside a storeroom at a plantation in Limbang.

"The 32-year-old mother is a worker at the plantation. She found one of the boys on top of her daughter.

"She dragged her daughter out of the storeroom before lodging a report at the Limbang police station," he said.

SAC Dev said the case in being investigated as rape under Section 376 of the Penal Code.

He said the suspects were not schooling while the victim is a Year Three pupil.
