Butcher hacked to death in broad daylight

SEGAMAT: A 39-year-old butcher was slashed to death while he was busy preparing cuts of meat by the roadside near Felda Chemplak here.

The victim, identified as Ahmad Radzi Jamaludin, was allegedly attacked by a parang-wielding man while he was busy preparing beef to sell for Hari Raya Aidil Adha at about 7.30am on Thursday.

The victim's sister, Shabariah Jamaludin, 33, said that Ahmad Radzi was slashed from the back and suffered severe injuries to his left hand and neck.

"An unknown man in his 40s approached on a motorcycle and suddenly attacked him.

"Relatives rushed him to a nearby clinic but he died before he could receive treatment," she said on Thursday.

Segamat OCPD Supt Raub Selamat said that the suspect has been arrested and the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
