KUALA LUMPUR: An RMAF Hercules plane is expected to leave its base at 5pm Tuesday for Chiang Mai to assist in bringing the remains of 13 Malaysian victims of Sunday's bus crash.

The Royal Thailand Air Force has also provided a plane to transport the bodies home.

"The Thailand Armed Forces chief extended the use of his plane during a visit yesterday as a show of sympathy and solidarity.

"I would like to thank him for his kind gesture," Armed Forces chief General Zulkifeli Mohd Zin (pic) told reporters at the Armed Forces Defence College on Tuesday.

He said the RMAF plane is expected to take off around 5pm.
