A three-year-old girl broke her right leg after falling from an escalator at the Kota Baru Trade Centre in Kelantan.
Major Chinese dailies reported that the girl slipped and fell during the 1.30pm incident on Sunday.
She was reportedly standing behind her mother as they went up the escalator when she slipped and fell.
She was rushed to the Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital for treatment for her broken right leg.
A security guard at the trade centre said closed circuit television footage showed that the girl was on the escalator alone and was holding on to the handrail when it was moving up.
However, she let go of the handrail when the escalator reached the first floor and fell down suddenly.
