Company director claims trial in road-bullying case

PETALING JAYA - The road bully case of a man who spat on a woman's car windshield was brought to the Magistrate's Courts Wednesday.

Khoo Kok Ann, 58 claimed trial to using criminal intimidation on Alisa Thean Wei Yun, 35 by blocking her car with his on the Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong heading to Putrajaya.

The company director was hit with a second charge of bending Alisa's car wipers then spitting on her windshield.

The alleged incidents both occurred at about 8am, on Nov 17.

If convicted, Khoo faces up to two years in prison and a fine for each charge, under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation and Section 427 for mischief.

Deputy public prosecutor Tan Gin Han asked for RM10,000 bail for each charge, saying the case was of public interest and had been widely circulated on social media.

Khoo's lawyer Geetha Thanigasalam asked for RM1,000 bail for each charge saying that he had no prior convictions and had already been in remand for two days.

Magistrate Salamiah Salleh granted bail at RM5,000 for each charge with one surety and fixed Dec 15 for mention.
