Double tragedy in Malaysian billionaire's family

MALACCA - The nephew of billionaire and philanthropist Tan Sri Vincent Tan died when the vehicle he was travelling in crashed into the rear of a lorry.

Kevin Tan Eng Hoe, 36, who was a passenger in the Toyota Vellfire, died on the spot during the 6.45am crash yesterday at Km182 southbound near Jasin along the North-South Expressway.

There was a double tragedy when Kevin's father-in-law Ung Teong Chuan, 60, found out about the death. He collapsed and died of a heart attack at the Jasin Hospital where Kevin's body had been taken to.

The 35-year-old driver of the car suffered light injuries while the 36-year-old lorry driver was uninjured, Jasin OCPD Deputy Supt Muhd Nur Hishamuddin Hashim said.
