Driver punches security guard who told him about kitten under his car

JOHOR BARU -  A security guard who tried to tell a driver there was a kitten under his Perodua Myvi was punched in the face at a mall in Skudai here.

A 54-second viral video showed the victim being pushed and punched.

Johor Baru (North) deputy OCPD Supt Fariz Ammar, who confirmed the case, said the incident took place at around 6.26pm on Oct 28.

The victim had approached the driver to tell him about the kitten underneath his car but the driver did not believe his story and accused him of lying.

Things got heated between them, and the driver then shoved and punched the victim's left cheek before leaving the premises, he said when contacted here yesterday.

Supt Fariz said the victim, who is a local 35-year-old man, then lodged a report at the Taman Ungku Tun Aminah police station on the same day of the incident.

He added that police had classified the case as criminal intimidation and voluntarily causing hurt.

Supt Fariz said that police were looking for the suspect and urged those with information relating to the case to contact the state police hotline at 07-2212999 or lodge a report at the nearest police station.
