Elderly 'nun' forces people to buy amulets

A woman allegedly forced members of the public to buy "amulets" from her and gave a dressing down to those who refused to do so, Guang Ming Daily reported.

The woman, believed to be in her 60s, dressed like a nun and is said to be active at hawker centres, fast food outlets and cafes in SS15 Subang Jaya for years.

Some college students claimed the woman had been operating in the area for more than five years.

A student said the woman would leave an "amulet" on a table and force people to pay for it.

Sometimes, she would ask people to give her money for meals and if they refused to do so, she would scold them.

The woman also allegedly forced some people to donate money to help the needy and would scold them if the amount was low, reported the paper.
