PETALING JAYA - Freescale Semiconductor has confirmed that 20 of its employees were passengers on the missing Malaysia Airlines MH370.
The company said in a statement here yesterday that 12 of the employees were from Malaysia while eight were Chinese nationals.
"The entire Freescale Semiconductor community is deeply saddened by this news.
"The company is continuing to monitor the situation and will provide more information as it becomes available," said its president and chief executive officer Gregg Lowe.
The company, said Lowe, was solely focused on the fate of the affected employees and their families.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by this tragic event," he said.
The company, he added, had assembled counsellors and other professionals through its Employee Assistance Programme to provide around-the-clock support for those impacted by the tragedy.
