IPOH - A man, who walked out of jail a free man after being acquitted of two drug charges, is now planning to walk down the aisle.
It is double joy for assistant lorry driver Mohsin Amri Adnan, 22, after a Sessions Court here acquitted him on charges of drug possession and consumption.
Mohsin Amri, who had been behind bars since his Nov 11 arrest, became a free man when judge Madihah Harullah acquitted and discharged him of the offence yesterday.
He was accused of possessing 58.7g of cannabis at a house in Jalan Pasir Putih, Ipoh, at about 4.15pm on Nov 11, last year.
In her ruling, Madihah said the prosecution had failed to prove a prima facie case.
She said there was insufficient evidence to be made against Mohsin Amri.
Mohsin Amri thanked his counsel Ranjit Singh Sandhu before his family and friends whisked him away in a car.
"He plans to get married after Raya," Ranjit said.
