Girl in Malaysia vanishes after school and not seen since Tuesday

BUKIT MERTAJAM - A Form Two schoolgirl, who was supposed to have returned home after school two days ago, is missing.

Dorothy Khor, a student of SMK Bukit Mertajam, was not seen after school on Tuesday evening.

Her godmother Ang Chooi Lin, 39, from Taman Bayu Mutiara here, said Khor, 14, attended the afternoon session.

She said Khor usually returned from school at about 8pm on school days.

"By 8.30pm, I started calling all her friends to check whether she had been at school and they said she was.

"I also called the school bus driver who told me that she (Khor) did not board the bus after school," she said at her home yesterday.

Ang said that at about 9pm on Tuesday, she called another friend of Khor who told her that she saw Khor leaving school with a man on a motorcycle.

She also said that Khor's parents were currently staying in Johor Baru and had been informed.

Ang, who sells Chinese traditional medicine, claimed that Khor was previously studying in Johor Baru but her parents got her transferred to the school here as she was going out with a male friend frequently.

"She (Khor) only started going to school by schoolbus since April 1.

"Before that I used to send her in my car," she added.

Ang said Khor has two other sisters, aged 23 and 24, who are living with their parents.

A police report had been lodged at the Bukit Tengah police station at about 9.45pm on Tuesday.

Acting state CID chief Asst Comm P.R. Gunarajan said police were investigating the matter.
