PETALING JAYA - A man seen mocking Chinese tourists in a video that has gone viral on social media has been removed as a Grab driver, says the ride-hailing company.

When contacted, Grab communications manager Regina Robin said the ride-hailing company has taken action against the driver.

"We have removed him permanently from our platform and we do not condone such behaviour," she said.

In the one-minute, six second video, the driver is seen saying that his passengers are from China.

He asks the tourists where are they from and when they reply, he mocks the way they speak.

He proceeds to smile and laugh while cursing and making fun of them, and even calls them "stupid" and says he wants to "knock them on their heads".

The tourists, who do not seem to understand what he is saying, smile and wave at the camera when he asks them to.

Netizens have slammed the driver's actions and criticised him for tarnishing the country's image.
