A WOMAN who lost contact with her family members for two years has been found living on the streets in Kuala Lumpur.
Oriental Daily reported the woman, who was known only as Lee and believed to be from Ipoh, suffered from a mental illness when she was found. She is also pregnant.
The family reportedly learned about the woman's whereabouts after a Facebook post highlighting her plight went viral.
With help from the Kechara Soup Kitchen charity group and police officers at the Jalan Chow Kit area, the family was reunited with Lee after a two-hour search for her.
She is now in a hospital for further assessment and treatment. The soup kitchen also said in a Facebook update that Lee would be brought back to Ipoh to see her mother.
"We are happy for Lee that she is now safe and back with her family members after having gone missing for two years," it said.
