Indonesian woman stabs lover to death after argument

PETALING JAYA - A lovers' quarrel between a 40-year-old man and his Indonesian girlfriend led to his death at a shophouse near here.

The man was believed to have been stabbed by the woman at the shophouse in Jalan PJS 1/46 near here early yesterday.

In the 4.30am incident, the police were alerted by a restaurant operator about a commotion coming from the couple's unit.

District police chief Asst Comm Azmi Abu Kassim said the body of the man was found naked and lay sprawled in a pool of blood in the bedroom.

"There was a stab wound on his chest. The medical team pronounced him dead upon arrival," he said.

"The man had just taken a bath when he was stabbed."

Asst Comm Azmi said the suspect, a 35-year-old Indonesian woman, tried to escape when the police arrived.

"She was apprehended immediately at the scene."

Checks by the police found that she does not have a permit and had started packing her belongings when the police arrived.

"When she heard us, she panicked and tried to run away," ACP Azmi said.
